Overview Overview Sadolin Classic Wood Protection is an all-purpose wood stain for interior and exterior, smooth and rough sawn timber.
Preparation Preparation Timber surfaces must be suitably prepared, clean, sound and dry. Protect from frost and rain until dry. Failure to meet these requirements may adversely affect the drying, visual quality and durability of the finish. Ensure that Sadolin Woodstain is thoroughly stirred before and during application, otherwise sheen and colour variations may be experienced. Sadolin Classic Wood Protection is ready to use from the tin and does not require thinning. For best results use a good quality, long-haired, soft bristle brush Apply Sadolin Classic Wood Protection in a full flowing coat, working well into joints and ensuring end grains or sawn timbers are coated to saturation After minutes redistribute the coating by brushing evenly in the direction of the grain Avoid over spreading Sadolin Classic as this will reduce the long term durability and performance of the coating Sand between coats if there is any raised grain Finishing Finishing Two coats are normally recommended for planed surfaces.
Aftercare Maintenance A lightening in colour, reduction in sheen and a loss of water-repellency is an indication that maintenance is required. For general maintenance, lightly abrade in the direction of the wood grain and clean using warm water and a mild detergent, then rinse thoroughly with clean water. Once dry, a fresh coat of Sadolin Classic Wood Protection can be applied. If the finish is badly flaking or peeling, to the point where the bare wood is showing through or has started to grey, please follow the full Preparation and Application instructions above.
