January 1, Kevin Arriola Ang Paboritong Libro ni Hudas by Bob OngMay mga bagay daw sa mundo na tinanggap na lang natin bilang katotohanan kahit walang pruweba o paliwanag. It is a deep understanding and complete trust in a thing or person. We are given freedom to believe in a religion and freedom to act in accordance with such belief. When I first read the few pages of the book, I then realize that all chapters are divided b Ang Paboritong Libro ni Hudas by Bob OngMay mga bagay daw sa mundo na tinanggap na lang natin bilang katotohanan kahit walang pruweba o paliwanag.

When I first read the few pages of the book, I then realize that all chapters are divided based on the seven capital sins. I thought that Bob Ong was only using Latin words or different terms but they are actually scrambled letters that need to rearrange to form words such as Envy, Anger, Pride, Covetousness, Lust, Gluttony and Sloth. He also shares some stories about his journeys in life relevant to the capital sins.

I found the book entertaining however informative because of the logical instances and facts that he put in the book. Makikita mo na lang ang sarili mo na taimtim na nagbabasa ng katapusan ng itim na librong walang kwenta at hindi mo maintindihan At hindi lahat ng kaya mong intindihin ay katotohanan. But this? The first few chuckles I had in the opening part were the height of my reaction while reading this book.

The first few pages are representative of what the rest of it looks like. A ton of jokes here and there with the same formula, albeit of different writing styles this author sure is adventurous , and the humor will eventually get thinner. It sometimes tries to say wise things, but easily throws these things away as jokes.

Everything turns into a joke, so this book itself is a big joke. And so, I just gave up because it was not that stimulating. And what is a book if what it does is make you sleep, even if its original intention is really just to entertain? This book is just not right up my alley. January 1, Ira Garcia Except for the title which sounds interesting, the other parts of the books are either confusing or silly.

Or was that the usual Bob Ong experience? I was wondering, was he the same writer or set of writers who wrote Stainless Longganisa assuming that Bob Ong represents a group of writers working under that name? Because this book, Ang Paboritong Li Except for the title which sounds interesting, the other parts of the books are either confusing or silly. It conveys socio-political and quasi-religious message in their bite-sized forms for the incidentally apathetic and the slaphappy pinoy souls.

And for the not-so-into-reading types of people too. It seemed to me like a hodgepodge of thoughts and trivial information somehow connected to each other and to the scene in afterlife it wishes to depict. A touch or a quick spin of every soda pop issue about life, politics, culture, and faith. It may sometimes be funny but lack wit. Or perhaps it has wit during the early parts of the book but it overuses a particular style leading to the auto-deterioration of humor in the punch lines.

This book is definitely not fascinating for book worshippers. The title is sayang. It should have been of better use if humor was armed with profundity and creativity.

January 1, anne Four or five years after reading this book and here I am reviewing it? No not really. Kind of like defending it The first time I went through Ang Paboritong Libro Not hated it; I just thought it was weird, trying hard to be funny and profound at the same time, kind of like making fun of the reader.

Some time later after I cleared my shelves to make way for other books, I picked it up again. I can compare the revelation I had after reading APLNH with a vague recollection o Four or five years after reading this book and here I am reviewing it?

For those expecting cohesion and chronological order, this is not the book for you. I was smiling and laughing the whole time I was reading it. I dunno, I just hate it when Bob Ong tends to discuss too much politics. I get bored. I want something which makes me read between the lines. I actually loved the conversation between the dead man and the mysterious person.

I hope he just made the whole book like that. January 1, BoBang This book got me curious because of the layout. In my country where christianity reigns supreme, I least expected that someone might toy with the symbol of christianity much less a writer whom would depend the demand for his book from christian readers. Ang paboritong libro ni hudas are divided into 7 chapters which includes different stories. Muntik na akong malunod i learned and know lot of things! I think in every story he tells , there is a hidden message but i cant figure out some of it o paranoid lang ako?

Way baaaaack my high school days. I remember, I had a hard time reading this. Ang daming kwento na biglang sumusulpot, out of the blue! But there are some quoatable quotes that you can read, heed and pound on to. I mean, mapapa isip ka sa mga bagay-bagay na ginagawa mo, mga bagay sa paligid mo at sa mundong to. I am not a pro- or anti- of this book. Sa tingin ko dapat tong mabasa ng mga taong nawawalan ng pag-asa and mga makasalanan?

January 1, Chenley Cabaluna first book to make me question everything in life that i believe into. Binili ko pa yun sa SM Marilao last summer kasi ncurious ako sa title, sa cover, and sa content.

I think many will agree if I say that this is not the best. I finished this one in one sitting. I got bored with some parts but It is actually good. I understand the content and for me that is the most important thing in reading a book. I still recommend this to everyone. January 1, M G I would give this four stars, if I were to rate this four years ago.

Maybe it was the generation gap. The humor it contained was specifically made during its own time and thus its humor is limited to its own time, too. My sister even bought it.

I think it was a waste of money. This is why Bob Ong is a famous Philippine Author. January 1, Lara Monegro Na-bored ako. I closed the book and put it back on shelf. Sorry, Bob Ong. January 1, Dawn Tagala the title is already obviously interesting. Plus the book cover was also unique. Not just the physical aspects of the book was good but also the content. The humors is really good.

The format of the story where bob ong constantly uses flashbacks is also unique and a bit confusing?

Bob Ong - Ang Paboritong Libro Ni Hudas

While reading the book, I sometimes question myself, what if the things I believe were true, were not actually true nor exist, like God Himself. What if God does not really exist? This is just one of the few things I liked about this book. There is one thing that I love in this book, and that is the striking lines of Bob Ong, he may deliver it in a light and humorous way but when you take time to read between the lines, you will see that it has a meaningful lesson or ideas behind it. This book is unpredictable, while you are reading the book you will observe that the stories only narrates a certain story. And according to the other people that I asked about the book, some of the stories are the random thoughts and imaginations of Bob Ong. Despite the things that made this book interesting to read, there were also things that made me disappointed.

That is "Alamat ng Gubat", full of laughter and ridiculous concepts as usual. Tinapos ko yun ng isang upuan lang. And that was the first time I was able to finish a book. I just borrowed it from a classmate when I was in college.
